Funny thing about "Ye." The Y is what happens when printers had no print face for the thorn symbol, which looks like a t but the cross is bent to the left like a tiny y sitting on the t. So they used a Y or y for a while until someone figured out that you can symbolize the "th" sound as it is now spelled. It was always pronounced "th" as in "That woman possesses a fine pair of mammaries."
