Another side note, Peace Corps volunteers and some tourists visit Yap Island quite often and it's considered customary for visitors to wear their clothing while participating in their ritual dances and celebrations. There are quite a few modern photos floating around the internet of topless American and western girls dancing with the natives.
My father was stationed on Yap Island as a member of the USCG in 1972...he never mentioned Peace Corps babes.
Today, March 1, is in fact Yap Day. There'll be many barechested participants at the Living History Museum this afternoon. It's fun to see.
