I must say though, a lot of these pictures are purely based on the artist's own opinion and experiences, making them very subjective and therefore not great as how-tos in my opinion. [This](https://i.imgur.com/syeCg0M.jpg), for instance, makes little sense because pain levels are subjective and the marks left depend on a lot of factors (technique, amount of force used, whether one bruises easily, etc.). [This](https://i.imgur.com/XwngzhA.jpg) isn't always necessary or wanted by a lot of people, neither is [this](https://i.imgur.com/mHSJnnZ.jpg), and a lot of people [don't want or like it to end in tears](https://i.imgur.com/2IZmMSZ.jpg). They're interesting images and they get passed around here and /r/BDSM a lot, but I would not take them as gospel.
