From the UK here. Chavs is a term used for generally white, low income families who live off government benefits. They don't tend to have high aspirations or drive to be successful. Usually lazy and only really interested in having babies at a very young age and getting a council flat. They love pies, chips and potatoes.
Looking through the last few weeks of posts, I really don't think you guys know what chavs actually are.
