Sometimes less is more. In this case, light. Whatever you did to set up the third photo is the way to go. All three of these photos show what stunning forearms you have, but the one which truly does them justice is the third one, the darker one. As you're no doubt well aware bodybuilders often dye their skin for competitions. Why? Because it catches the light better and gives better shadows and show off all the detail. You can do the same by controlling the light level in your photos, either at the time you shoot, or by making adjustments in the editing afterwards. Great first post; great any post.
