I got the original when I was around 10... it not only scared the bejaysus out of me but I was also not able to finish it, I think I got stuck at some point with no ammo left and gave up. Also probably was too scared. I just finished the RE2 remake and wanted to give RE1 another try, so I played the 2014 remake (which looks amazing - although the controls are still clunky). It was tough! But I made it through. I was impressed with the storyline and how it connected to the other games in the series, and the interconnectedness of the map gave me some Dark Souls Vibes. Next up to replay RE4....

i’m proud of you!!! RE1 is a CLASSIC!!! you need to play the original on PS1/2. it’s a little creepier than the remake but both are excellent and are some of my favorite games of all time
