Interesting place to spot a priest.
Missing something here. As I understand this picture it was taken in a darkened room with a flash. The crowd could only see a silhouette of the woman lit by lights under the waterbed mattress.
This is one of Gatewood’s most famous photographs of all time and his personal favorite. The scene depicts a "performance piece" on a waterbed at a private gallery in New York City and was taken in 1971. The woman was Joseph Westerfield's stripper wife and the location was Manhattan's Gallery of Erotic Art. This image has been published countless times and was reproduced in SideTripping, Badlands and many other books. The artist used a Leica with a 21 mm lens and Tri-X film at 1000 asa with a flash that bounced off the ceiling. Although it does not appear to be the case, the room was very dark at the time the photo was shot
