It’s like telling a person who recovered from a broken arm years ago to be careful. You’re dredging up the past, and it’s slmething that may not even have any reference to their present. Most people who self harm do it in places that aren’t public knowledge, like the poster here. There is usually a sense of embarrassment attached to very old scars, like the one pictured. People bringing it up are just being assholes. Let the past lie. Let this person try to embrace body positivity and control of their sexuality without commenting on darker times.
