For me, Thou tops the list. Their album "Heathen" is probably my favorite. Sunn O)))'s new one, "Life Metal," is great for just relaxing, but is probably on the fringes of what lots of folks call metal. I've been playing the hell out of Witchcryer lately. Only one album so far, and it's on Bandcamp. Electric Wizard, Sleep, Boris, Acid King, Earthless. Can't go wrong with any of them.
Opeth ! Ghost of Perdition, or The Grand Conjuration are really bangin' . Also, Between the Buried and Me. And Tesseract. There's some great bands in the comments already tho
