Still popular now BTW, just what photogs are shooting - I read some half-baked blog post years ago citing the fact that the type of models and body type being selected skewed towards anorexic and/or androgynous because of the high % of gay men in editorial / creative positions in publishing. While that POV is flawed in many serious ways it made me take into account the filtering / curating process that occurs before an image is published.
