She would have been 19 when the photos were published but it is possible she was younger when the photos were taken. Her then friend, Nastassja Kinski, convinced Moore to leave the Fairfax Preparatory School in Hollywood at age 16 to become an actress. It was after leaving school that Moore started working as a model under the pseudonym Vivianne Pollentier. In a 1988 interview, Moore claimed she "only posed for the cover of Oui—I was 16; I told them I was 18". In 1990, she told another interviewer, "I was 17 years old. I was underage. It was just the cover."
