I am pretty sure they are in another country and those prices are not in dollars. 3.50 would be like 35 bucks in 1964. I was in the Marines in the late 70’s and a beer was a buck at the strip joints. 35 cent at a normal bar. Most of those guys were making around 120 a month at the time.
Damn, 3.50 for a Heineken? Shit was pricey even back then.
I grew up in a small town that was usually a very narrow minded and gossipy place. But there was a nearby naval base and any girl who "entertained" a sailor or two was kind of given a pass and wasn't judged by the local gossips.
