Quick tidbits: Scar-Jo really drove a van around and propositioned strangers. They weren't "scenes" w/ actors. And the dude w/ the really messed up face was one of the people they happened to stumble upon. Originally there wasn't a part in the film for him, but it worked so damn well that they wrote some lines for him.
