Some explanation (as posted in perfectloops): Each square of the grid is mapped to a certain region of the image of a cube spinning. They start off mapped normally. Over time, their mapping changes. Specifically, their angle and distance relative to the center of the image changes. It's as if each square is a lens zoomed in on the frame. They all start and end lined up perfectly side-by-side, but then then each square pans in a kind of circle around the image. Try watching one of the squares near the middle; they don't move as far and it's easier to track their panning.

I imagine this can be done quite easily with a shader on a GPU. From there you can apply the effect to basically anything in realtime. What did you do to make this?
