Why is prostitution illegal? Men made the laws that made it illegal right? That seems crazy to me. My theory is that men who wrote the laws had / have wealth and power, and by making it illegal, it creates a situation where only wealthy and powerful men have access to prostitutes, which raises their status. I'd be interested to hear alternative theories, as it makes no fucking sense to me.
