I think what I like most about this is the dead-eyed, lifeless look of stone-cold, emotionless dispassion on Shepard's face. It really conveys the loveless, passionless nature of the act and makes this a scene of tragedy rather than eroticism. A rare feat.
Shepard looks like he is having a PTSD flashback.
