Most fun I ever had playing Halo was in the first couple missions of the original game. I was given control of the Warthog's 50 Cal, and my friend had a sniper rifle. We got into a rhythm where he'd shoot first to get the headshot, and I'd follow up with the storm of bullets. It was largely unnecessary, helpful primarily against a single well-entrenched elite. Thing is, eventually he ran out of ammo for the sniper rifle. We were playing on Legendary and taking no chances. So he set the sniper rifle aside, and I shouted, "NO! Don't do that, bring it back!" "But I'm out of ammo." "I was using your scope for range-finding!" We completed as much as we could hunting enemies at extreme range, using his scope for visibility at distances the targeting reticle didn't reach on my screen. This looks like *way* more fun than that.
Holy fuck. I *wish* my wife played Halo... or anything... and actually enjoyed sitting on my face.
