My 84 yr old father to this day will climb on his treadmill after popping in his Showgirls vhs tape and away he goes. Happy old Marine.
Showgirls on Cable TV is my favorite. The bad audio editing. The drawn on clothes. Genius!
I'm definitely in the minority here, and am 100% cool with others that love this film. But man it was like anti-hot to me... I remember when it was announced and I was all "holy shit, yes!" That hot chick from Saved by the Bell in an X-rated movie about strippers! But i don't know, whomever choreographed the movie gave her moves that just (again, to me) weren't sexy at all. Just sort of goofy... It didn't help that the movie was overwrought like all Paul Verhoeven movies; but not in a good way like robocop or black book or basic instinct, but in the flesh blood way. Lots of aggressive busyness; not much payoff.
